Welcome to our website! It is our hope that you enjoy your visit and find inspiration.
Here is how Julie’s came into being. In 2004, I decided to leave my job as a Technical Recruiter and become a business owner. In the past I also ran a resume writing business out of our home and my husband David ran a successful pressure-washing business for 15 years. It was time to make my jump into a larger business. After looking at several “boring” businesses, David said to me, “Why don’t you do something you love?” Wow…there was an idea! So my thoughts immediately went to sewing and quilting. I officially learned to sew in middle school, however, I spent a lot of time with my Grandma who sewed on a Singer treadle and also taught me to crochet from the time I was very young. I also had some very “crafty” and “creative” Aunts and a Mother who painted landscapes. So lots of creativity around me from the very beginning.
I contacted Holz’s Sewing Center in Appleton, WI and it was perfect timing. Roy Holz was looking to retire. His family had started this business in 1945! In December of 2004, I took over Holz’s. A very short six months later, Pfaff was looking for a dealer in Green Bay, WI and since that’s where I live, I could not turn that down. I’m not so sure I would recommend such a quick expansion! However, with a lot of support, we started thriving and growing. During this time, we decided to change the name to Julie’s Sewing Center to give us a more personal feel. And our shops continue to thrive and are always growing! You are cordially invited to stop in and visit anytime. We would love to see you!
